Second step: With a sharp knife, cut along the sides and separate the leaf. Then, remove any yellow residue that comes off when you cut it. You should be left with a clear, sticky substance, without any yellow or greenish stains. Use it immediately or store it in an airtight container for a couple of days. It's best to use it fresh. Third step: Once you have the gel, rinse it and place it in a blender along with the juice of half a lemon and honey to taste (optional). Add about 300 ml of mineral water and blend. If you like, you can add a pinch of ginger, turmeric, or mix it with other fruit or vegetable juices.
Recommendations
There are different species of this plant, but not all are suitable for consumption. The two best-known varieties are Aloe vera barbadensis and Aloe vera chinensis. Although they are often confused, the difference lies in the fact that the former is edible and, when mature, has long, thick, and fleshy leaves. The latter, on the other hand, is mainly used for topical application to treat minor skin problems; it has narrow leaves and white spots.
Ingredient Kits
Another way to preserve aloe vera gel or juice is to place it in an ice cube tray and freeze it. This way, it will be ready when you need it. Remember to consume it within a short time and take a break after several weeks of continuous use. Also, consult your doctor before using any medication.
